On June 18–19, field visits were conducted to selected communities in Armenia’s Shirak and Tavush regions under the Climate Adaptation for Food Security Enhancement Project (CAFSEP), implemented by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The visits brought together representatives of the ADB mission, the Project Implementation Team, and the consortium of Avenue Consulting Group LLC and 3R Strategy LLC, which provides consulting services for the project.
The mission included visits to beneficiary households that are expected to receive support packages, including seedlings, as well as assessments of potential sites for agricultural logistics hubs. Accessibility, infrastructure conditions, connections to agricultural value chains and markets, and preliminary environmental and social considerations were reviewed.
The project aims to promote the development of agricultural value chains, reduce post-harvest losses, improve market access, and strengthen the climate and economic resilience of local communities.
Building climate-resilient food systems starts with strengthening local agricultural communities and value chains.
