Land Degradation Trends and Land Use Analysis in the Lake Sevan Basin

Land Degradation Trends and Land Use Analysis in the Lake Sevan Basin

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of another important environmental and spatial planning assignment by Avenue Consulting Group, implemented in consortium with GEOVIBE.

Within the framework of the UNDP-GEF "Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land Resources and Valuable Ecosystems in the Lake Sevan Basin for Multiple Benefits" Project, our team delivered a comprehensive package of analytical and practical outputs supporting sustainable land management across six target municipalities in Armenia.

The assignment included:
 - Land degradation assessment using GIS and remote sensing;
 - Socio-economic and knowledge assessments;
 - Integrated Spatial Land Use Plans (ISLUPs) for six municipalities;
 - Development of a user-friendly digital decision-support tool;
 - User manuals, methodology documentation, and stakeholder training.

The project demonstrates how data-driven analysis, spatial planning, and digital innovation can be combined to support evidence-based environmental governance and sustainable local development.
We sincerely thank UNDP in Armenia, the Environmental Project Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Environment, GEF, WWF, our consortium partner GEOVIBE, and all stakeholders for their trust and cooperation throughout this assignment.
