Lurer Highlights IADAAM Training on Combating Tuta absoluta in Armenia

Public TV Company of Armenia’s Lurer news program highlighted a series of trainings conducted under the IADAAM Project to strengthen farmers’ and agricultural professionals’ capacities in combating Tuta absoluta (the South American tomato leafminer), an invasive pest posing a growing threat to agricultural production in Armenia. Combining theoretical and practical components, the trainings focused on early detection, monitoring, integrated pest management, and the effective use of pheromone traps. Field demonstrations and knowledge-sharing sessions provided participants with practical tools to reduce crop losses and support more sustainable agricultural production.


The Irrigated Agriculture Development in Ararat and Armavir Marzes (IADAAM) Project, financed by the European Union (EU) and implemented with the support of the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement), aims to transform irrigated agriculture in Armenia.

Implemented by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the project’s technical assistance is provided by a consortium comprising AESA - Agriconsulting Europe SAAvenue Consulting Group LLC, Strategic Development Agency NGO, and 3R Strategy LLC, with the aim of strengthening agricultural policy and advancing sector reforms.
